J Senior Session

Never have I ever had to sneak around a location so much before in my life but dang was it worth it! About a month ago (almost every blog I write now starts with that!) I shot the beautiful Ms. J who was the a Class A Sneaker. Upon entering said location and before I could even set my bag down we were told we weren’t allowed to shoot there… we found that more of a challenge than anything and spent the next hour using code words to identify employees who’s names we made up (Leslie was the most persistent). It was all well worth the stress though and we managed to create some seriously killer images!!!

L Valentines Day Session

Happy Valentines Day everyone!!!

This is a rare thing, this might literally be the one time in my life I properly planned ahead, so this year I was able to do a mini Valentines Day shoot!!! All of you know that I am all about some frill,I love incorporating pops of color into any and every session so when the Lovely Lauren Cummings was willing to go frolic with me fighting cold and wind I was over the moon! This sweet lady is almost sickeningly sweet, she has the most positive attitude and the most contagious smile! We had discussed late 2017 doing a session together but traveling kept me busy and this lady is hard to get ahold of! Both of us go nonstop and I think that's one of the reasons we got along so well! She also laughed at all my jokes, even the ones she didn't get, so that was another big bonus. This small portion of our shoot yielding so many awesome photos and the second part deserves its own blog! 

R's Second Birthday

Today Baby R turns 2!!!!!!!!!!

One of my most asked about newborn photos is that of the little baby in the monkey hat with the big lips, which is by far still one of my favorites, and I was lucky enough to get to get to see that little booger again just the other day!!! To no surprise he has grown into an incredibly handsome and devilishly stylish young man that I'm sure all the girls at daycare are constantly fighting over! He's still got those lips that Kylie Jenner pays top dollar for too. 

R is Turing 2 going on 16 and pronounced the word sunglasses in the most adorable way, there were way too many syllables for me to even remember how to pronounce it but by golly was it cute!!! In every blog I've ever covered on this family I always gloat about how amazed at how stylish and beautiful this young lady is, despite having a crazy hyper active two year old.  I don't have any kids and have never been as collective mentally or physically she is! Definitely Mom Goals (as all the hip kids say). She's also just an all around kind and wonderful woman and is always such a pleasure to be around. Working with her and R was literally a day at the park, where I've taken some of my most favorite family photos! I even wore my sneakers to this shoot instead of my flats because I was expected to have to chase R down this whole session however he was such a treat and actually ran towards me quite a few times (with large rocks in his hand, not sure if it was a threat or not). I can't get enough of how cute these two were and how much I appreciate them allowing me to once again capture such a special part of their lives! Happy Birthday R, hope you and your family have a great one!!!

Thanks to Mama T again for providing Balloons not once, but twice!!! (they got away from us at some point the first time!) Also big thanks to 100 Acre Boutique for providing me with this adorable little beanie for this guys shoot! I didn't think he could look anymore like a rock star than he already did!!!

DW Maternity Session

Baby DW number 3 is almost here!!! This means at any given moment I can be driving up to KY to witness this little monster to make her/his big debut! Lets hope unlike his/her sister, they decide to arrive at a hard noon! Hopefully this isn't the last of the DW children, I know if Mama can help it she'll get two more out of Papa K, because they make the most adorable kids! Check out this beauty rockin one of my maternity dresses & her adorable munchkins (& handsome hubby) giving her some serious love!

Ms. Nadie R

Now that I've got a fancy computer where I can actually see what I'm doing I've been going through lots and lots of old files and I have to toot my own horn a bit and say I'm still amazed at some of my old work! It's so easy to be hypercritical of yourself and compare your work to others but stumbling across galleries like this really make me incredibly proud of my work and even more eager for every shoot I have!  One of my most wonderful and imaginative models to date! I look forward to the day I can work with Ms. Nadia again! 

Matoka & Jarett Engagment Session

Going on adventures with friends is one of the best parts of being a photographer! As much as I love my many adventures with young Samuel there's just something extra special about going out and sharing in the mischief with equally as awesome people. Matoka & Jarett are always so much fun to be around and I always get some stunning images from all their sessions so when we planned on going to Cummins Falls I thought we would get some drop dead gorgeous images at the waterfall! Well, we got some awesome images but they weren't by the waterfall! None of us had ever been to the area & as beautiful of a drive & walk as it was it was atrocious to navigate. The weather was thankfully beautiful but that just meant the area was packed with people who didn't seem to notice that we were taking pictures. We went out of the way in lots of areas to get photos and not to disturb anyone doing their thing and somehow people still seemed to go out of their way to sit on the same rock or stand in the same area as J & M. The fact that it just so happened to be the one time of year I get sick & I had no voice what so ever didn't help too much! Thankfully Blake was there to make sure everything went as smoothly as possible & I had to use him multiple times to show the two what type of pose I needed them to do. Despite the craziness of the day these two were such good sports & always provide such amazing conversation. They managed to make a crazy day an amazing experience and despite the cluttered setting they still knocked it out of the park! In every photo, posed or not the way they look at each other is the way that all women want their man to look at them (& vice versa). One of the best things from the day was the fact that Matoka was painting her nails as we went, which takes some serious skill!!!

 I can't wait to finish this session up or for their wedding in October!!! 

Halloween Session with MC

HAPPY HALLOWEEN Y'ALL!!!

It's been ages since I've been able to do a 'stylized' session & ever since I've started making dresses it's all I've wanted to do, so it only seemed fit that I dragged one of my favorite little ghouls to the graveyard with me to frolic. Don't worry, we didn't forget our tooth brushes!  

Normally my sessions last hours, simply because we spend so much time talking and making awful jokes, but somehow Maya & I managed to knock out this spooky session in an hour & a half, even with my knee slappers! I don't think I've met anyone equally as funny or so much like me & I always love working with Maya for this very reason (she also knocks it out of the park every session too but, that's beside the point). I could literally spend all day with this beautiful woman & not get sick of her or her crazy antics!

We spent the better part of the morning drinking (what I thought was) bad coffee from Mc Donald's & glairing at passing cars while we dramatically danced & prayed as we ran through the cemetery. Maya thankfully was carrying enough good juju that we both felt safe. We were accompanied by Jeffery & Jeffery's less important friend who's name I don't remember (who I picked up from Michael's just an hour before our session). Even though Halloween just seemed to slip by my this year but I am so incredibly thankful that I had the opportunity to engage in some level of Spooky before the day passed!

K Senior Session

What do you do when you're given the opportunity to work with an incredibly gorgeous, kind, and funny young lady? You make her work with you for two hours.

After weeks of talking with Ms. K's mother the day finally arrived where I would get to meet these beautiful ladies! Though these two are not Nashville natives they were able to introduce me to multiple amazing locations downtown , and though I normally avoid downtown like the plague (fear of crowds) it was well worth the trip! I feel like had K and myself been in high school at the same time she would definitely be a girl I would have wanted to be friends with. She was so kind, smart, but more importantly incredibly funny, and seemed to understand all my sporadic hand motions and directions, even though I didn't know what I was doing half the time! Ms. K was so incredibly classy it only seemed appropriate to incorporate the beautiful architecture of Union Station into her session! It was incredibly hard to narrow down my personal favorites and it's going to be even harder trying not to incorporate all of her photos into my galleries!
 

Alexis Editoral

For those of you who didn't know I had some of my work published sometime last year for an article written by Alexis E. (who is also the model in these photos) about summer hacks/cheap or free ways to have fun! I loved incorporating all the pastel colors & a little bit of both of our styles into this session (& of course working with her is always a treat). I've been dying to share these colorful photos for ages & it was so hard narrowing down which ones I wanted to share!!! I've worked with Alexis on multiple occasions now & I must say how in awe I am at how quickly she can go from being such a serious intense model to such a free spirit! I think she enjoyed running around in the heat hula hopping & eating ice cream just as much as I did!

Maya, Darling, Light of my life...

Take note guys. On a first date, you want to take a beautiful woman like this to a big giant field where she can frolic. Even if it's in 30 degree weather. It's been weeks since I've been able to see this beautiful woman but the wait is well worth it! I can happily say you'll be seeing this face on my website (blog/FB) for many moons to come.

Even though this was Maya's first time being photographed professionally she did way better than I could have ever imaged! I guess it runs in the family though! Maya looks good from every angle & has her smolder down (watching ANTM pays off guys)

This family has produced nothing but beautiful & kind woman & has always made me feel incredibly comfortable & welcomed. I haven't laughed or so smiled so much in a long time & it was well worth the frostbite! After several hours of spooning for warmth & thawing out our hands Maya & I had to say our parting goodbyes (until next time of course!). It was hard trying to narrow down what photos to share & I'm happy to announce I have a new consistent model who I'll be gracing my page for many years to come!  Be sure to check back soon for a full blog covering her little princess!
